GDOP REPORT FOR MAY 23, 2010THEME: Joel 2 & 2 Chron 7:14 This year’s Pentecost was very special. We had a gathering of saints from different denomination and different cultures and languages. The four main languages were used for important announcements and wireless headsets were given to those in need
WELCOME: Pr Andy from NECF started the congregation in prayer from 5.30pm (In fact intercessors were cleansing the place on Saturday, the eve of the event.) It was so sweet as Julia started solo on song ‘kasih’. The drummers and shofar blowers & of course Thomas Joseph welcomed the runners in style as they run into the stadium slightly pass 6.30pm. The runners had run on Sat and Sun, praying with prayer cards as they run. And today they ran round the stadium and lighted the cauldron. That’s the beginning of great things in store for the people of God.
WORSHIP: Pr Alvin and team who are mainly young adults from different churches ushered in the presence of God. It was awesome as apprx 9000 people sang in unison to our God. I believe God has His angels singing with us as we worshipped God in Bahasa as well. I like the worship as there were many new Bahasa songs. It also means so much to us as we Malaysians sang in Bahasa. Many new songs can be obtained from the GDOP Album.
MESSAGE: Pr Daniel Ho gave a powerful condensed message of return & repentance from the book of Joel. Have we become a scorn or a mockery? Wail, weep and cry to God for the enemy has stolen many wonderful things from our land. Joel 1:17’ seed shrivels up’. Seed are never design to be lifeless. It is design to produce life and bless all. A call to return is a serious call to influence the destiny of Malaysia. God wants to restore this land, He is gracious. Pr Daniel led us into a time of repentance & prayer on our knees as a congregation.
Pr Phua Seng Teong led us to honor the first people group. We had 5 Jehais with us and Pr Danil Raut, Bro Alfred and Pr Phua prayed in Bahasa. We also acknowledged the first people group as they stood up in the stadium.
We also have leaders from different races prayed for Malaysia. Pr Ong Sek Leang shared his testimony and Pr Chan MK & Andrew prayed for global revival before Pr Chew shared about the cup of wrath, it was as if there was silence in heaven. But as he began to share on the censer, the crowd rejoices to hear that there is hope in this land. Rev. 8, Num 16. Isaiah 52:1-2 – awake faithful generations for church revival.
PRAYER: Different leaders led us into different prayer needs. Sometimes, it is the whole congregation praying together, sometimes it is a group or 3 or 4. We are also reminded that 218 countries are praying globally. It’s a time of united prayers pouring out to our Almighty God for this land, crying out for forgiveness, seeking Him to turn this nation around for His glory.
RESPONSE: There are many testimonies. Many felt there is unity as different races came together as one and prayed regardless. It was a time of drawing ourselves closer to God and closer to one another. Just as the pastors said, it was a time of genuine repentance of the heart, a time to fill the censer, a time of great awakening. |

The message below is meant to update us on the current pandemic, H1N1 so that we can minimize the exposure to it for us as well as for those around us. I suggest that all of us be familiar with this issue and address it accordingly and that we do not take this lightly. |

All glory goes to our Almighty God. We thank Him for the smooth launching of the Malaysia National Prayer Network (MNPN) on 19th March 2008. We also thank Canon Eddie Ong and the leadership of St Paul's who graciously offered their church for this occasion. About 150 pastors, leaders and intercessors turned up in spite of the rain and traffic jam.
We were blessed by Ps Alvin Tan and Ps Oneng Bintiri who led the Praise and Worship.
Rev Wong Fong Yang, Moderator of Gereja Presbyterian Churches of Malaysia, said the Opening Prayer. The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of West Malaysia, Bishop Ng Moon Hing gave the exhortation from the parable of the persistent widow in Luke 18. He cautioned the Church to be responsible when God answers our prayers, not too be gullible but to be discerning, watchful and to stay humble. Click here to visit www.prayer.net |
